Using Ghost Shrimp as bait

I've found that ghost shrimp is one of the best bait out there whether you're fishing in the surf, the pier, or even at the rocks in the jetties.  The reason why it's so good is that most fish find them irresistible.  Below is a picture of a 20 inch halibut caught using ghost shrimp.  Previous to catching this fish, I've been fishing at the Santa Ana River mouth in Newport Beach for 2 hours using frozen anchovies without many bites. As soon as I switched to ghost shrimp, (in my first cast) this decent sized halibut took the bait! The 12 inch Barred Surf Perch below (also caught on ghost shrimp)  is the biggest perch I've caught in the surf at Bolsa Chica beach. In the cooler is one hour's worth of collecting ghost shrimps at the Santa Ana River mouth. using a ghost shrimp pump (more on that later).
